Almost a mile and a half face these sixteen runners in this low grade handicap.

Plenty of exposed types in here which makes Fillyfudge a very interesting contender. She’s not bred to relish this trip, however on her latest run it certainly looks the way to go with her. She rallied well to finish third after making the running over a slightly shorter trip at this course and the winner that day has followed up since.

Jackamundo is becoming well handicapped at could feature in the placings, along with Astronomic who has shown nothing so far, but is bred to relish this trip.

FILLYFUDGE (WIN)

A typical mile handicap at Newcastle with some familiar faces.

Kiritimati Island broke his maiden tag here with a cozy success last time. Only up four pounds, he returns here with an obvious chance.

Balqaa has been running well lately, finishing second last time over course and distance. She is now ten pounds higher than her last winning mark and that may be too much.

Frog And Toad looks to have a solid each way chance. He’s hardly a winning machine, but he’s been running consistently well lately, particularly his last run here where he certainly hinted at better to come. He’s feasibly weighted, and should grab a place at least.
