Jenny Candlish has an excellent strike rate with her chasers at Perth, with four of her five runners over the last three years having visited the winners’ enclosure. Her only runner on today’s card is Beeves who is responsible for two of those four victories, both coming over a three-mile trip. A solid third at Uttoxeter should put him spot on for today and he is taken to gain back-to-back victories in this race.

There are a number of previous course winners in the field, with Rainy City in particular catching the eye now stepped back up in trip after a disappointing run last time out. That said, the biggest danger looks to be Martiloo who brings the best form in to the race having won her last two. Racing off an 8lbs higher mark she tries three miles for the first time so will have to improve again but could capitalise if the selection falters.
