14:35 Ripon Ann Duffield has had a lot of success at Ripon with her runners and she looks to have another one ready to strike this afternoon. She lines up her 3yo gelding Arnold here in this class 6 handicap to be run over 6f. The horse showed a lot of promise as a 2yo yet seemed to lose is way towards the end of the campaign, but he went down by a neck over this trip on his seasonal reappearance at Thirsk back in April. The previous run at Ayr over 7f is best ignored because of a poor draw leaving him out of position that day and he looks primed to attack here today back over 6f, so gets the nod. The main danger will likely come from the Tim Vaughan trained Termsnconditions who won well last time out and should make a bold bid for the hat trick despite the double penalty. ARNOLD (WIN)
15:45 Naas The Jessica Harrington trained 2yo filly Alpha Centauri caught the eye when decisively beating off Aiden O’Brien’s re-opposing filly Actress on debut. The form of that victory looked even stronger when that rival came out and won well next time out. The two lock horns again today for this listed contest over 6f, but there is no reason why Alpha Centauri can’t confirm the debut running with her rival again today and she gets the nod to hold off the Coolmore horse once again. Ryan Moore is booked for the ride on the aforementioned Actress and she will not go down without a fight and is the obvious danger to take advantage if the selection fails to fire on her second start. This looks a good opportunity for her to pick up some much sought after black type and Colm O’Donoghue can steer his mount to victory. ALPHA CENTAURI (WIN) – NAP
