16:45 Chester
The penultimate race on the card sees a trio of former course and distance winners line up in this eight runner contest over 7 and a half furlongs.
Lincoln Park came out victorious in their last outing but isn’t one for racking up a sequence and after their rise in weight may find this too much of a struggle.
Gabrial The Wire may well be the rank outsider but couldn’t be discredited too readily although the most likely outcome is a place at best.
I’m left with the only other course and distance winner in Revich who holds a fantastic record here at Chester with three wins and a place from six starts here. He’s close to his last winning mark and has a very capable jockey in Angus Villiers in the saddle who takes off a helpful 5lbs. He’ll handle the ground and this drop in to Class 3 company will also aid his chances.
Of the remainder Fizzy Feet looks drastically over priced at their current double figure odds but being drawn out in stall 7 won’t suit their running style but if she can get a decent break may finish in the money.
REVICH (WIN)
17:20 Galway
The final race of the entire week long Galway Festival sees a very competitive looking 1m6f handicap where I’ve sided with a runner at a massive price.
Milford Sound won not too long ago when a winner at Roscommon just four starts back. He’s switched trainers twice since then but at the age of 5 isn’t likely to have declined all that much. With the interesting jockey booking of Ronan Whelan a chance is taken to see him improve for this step up in trip and go well at big odds.
