16:15 Thirsk Unlucky for some but thirteen horses line up and one of them will be claiming their first ever victory. Arnarson has been ultra consistent with six placed efforts in eight races but it’s very disconcerting that he’s still yet to get his nose in front after so many attempts. Unlike Arnarson, Sacred Way will step on to the racecourse for the first time and after being purchased for over £120,000 he’ll be worth noting. Naaeebb may have a name that would give you an array of points in a game of Scrabble but I’m hoping he’ll also bag as an array of winnings too. A fifth placed finish in a six runner race rarely sparks any sort of confidence but in his one and only start he finished behind some top quality horses. Of the five rivals he faced that day, four of them have raced once again and three of them have claimed very decisive victories. We know that racing isn’t won solely on the form book but this promising youngster, who’s been handled with kid gloves, looks to have a bright future. NAAEEBB (WIN) – NAP
19:20 Windsor The five furlong course at Windsor is very unique so course and distance winners hold a huge advantage over their rivals and we’re siding with one of the two former course victors lining up here. Despite being the ripe old age of eight Sandfrankskipsgo has a great record here at Windsor and looks poised for another good effort but sadly is probably vulnerable to younger legs. The other course and distance winner Awesome Allan is one of the youngest horses in the race and has further room for improvement. Despite some disappointing performances in his last few outings a return to Windsor should definitely help and from a decent handicap rating will undoubted go close. Top weight Lydia’s Place is sure to put in another consistent performance but having to contend with a hefty weight maybe too much. Maazel represents top connections so automatically deserves respect however he’s not been anywhere near his best since his gelding operation and I can’t side with a favourite who’s been so disappointing of late. AWESOME ALLAN (E/W)
