16:30 Chepstow
A ten runner fillies handicap across the border at picturesque Chepstow features today.
Recent course winner Lady Reset is an interesting runner. Winning here over a mile last time, the step up in trip looks sure to suit and she looks highly competitive off a seven pound higher mark.
Two handicap debutantes in Island Reel and Mystiquestar should not be underestimated. The latter is favoured of the pair for trainer Roger Charlton and jockey Jason Watson who have both made a satisfactory start to the season in their new partnership.
Of the other mostly exposed fillies Mongolia could go well under a light weight.
The horse that catches the eye here is Teodora De Vega. Making her handicap debut this unexposed filly has been brought along steadily this season and looks leniently weighted off a mark of 67 which could under estimate her. Hopefully we should see a good level of improvement over middle distances.
Trained by Ralph Beckett, a master handler of fillies and ridden by in form Harry Bentley. I expect an authoritative success today on the way to better things.

Opting for a horse who’s only beaten 10 rivals out of a possible 68 opponents in their last five runs and hasn’t won since October 2017 may seem like an odd thing to do. Never the less a chance is taken in this seventeen runner sprint contest with East Street Revue.
Trainer Tim Easterby has had a couple of winners recently and sends this six year old into battle with 16lbs less weight to carry since his last success. Dropping down in to Class 5 company for the first time since June 2016 (which he won) is also another promising statistic. Stall 10 isn’t a horrendous draw and although it’s such a competitive race and it’s safe to say our selection isn’t in form a chance is taken on East Street Revue to recapture former glories.
A return to turf for Luzum may see marked improvement and the John Quinn trained Mr Wagyu has an attractive looking handicap mark.
The main danger looks to be Ladweb who, after wind surgery, didn’t seem to fire last time out however, with a run under his belt, the nine year old veteran could be rejuvenated for this run.
