RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (FRIDAY) – ROYAL ASCOT

17:35 Ascot

Fujaira Prince lost very little in defeat when tackling 1m4f at York last time and arrives here a fresh horse, having been given over a month off. Very lightly raced for a five year old, the ground may pose a question of him today though he is taken to overcome it and regain the winning thread.

Johnny Drama is hard to weigh up in terms of form, he couldn’t have been anymore impressive the last day and despite his lack of experience, respect is afforded.

Baghdad has the assistance of Ryan Moore and is on the upgrade, his trainer often targets these races and he warmed up nicely for this when winning at Newmarket last time.

Corgi, Byron Flyer and Top Tug are selected others with claims in a competitive looking affair.

FUJAIRA PRINCE (WIN)

20:00 Goodwood Away from all the glitz and glamour of Royal Ascot we await the evening meeting from Goodwood where the penultimate race of the night sees jockey Oisin Murphy with a great chance of adding to his already formidable winning tally. The duo of traine William Haggas and owner Sheikh Rashid Dashid Al Maktoum have already tasted success this week over at Ascot and this looks a much easier contest. Their runner Kodiac Pride makes his first foray into handicap company and after his success at Beverley should improve further. Reeves and Water Diviner have a chance of course however Reeves seems to not be the biggest fan of getting his head in front and Water Diviner may well need the run after a lengthy absence. Kodiac Pride may not be given much value by the bookies but if you’re looking for a horse that looks pretty close to a certainty (famous last words) then look no further. KODIAC PRIDE (WIN)
