PADDOCKS PATENT (MONDAY)

13:50 Brighton Winning Bid has shown signs of ability in his 3 starts to date. Harry Dunlop’s Colt has finished within 2 lengths of the winner in his last two races and this maiden looks very winnable. Connections were confident of a placed finish last time out and that maiden looked a stronger event than today’s – throwing up three subsequent winners. First foray away from Lingfield but Winning Bid’s half brother was a winner on similar good ground, so I am hopeful of a big run here. Winning Bid (WIN)

14:00 Kempton Iballisticvin is one of only three 3 year olds in the field receiving a handy weight allowance. Rated a lowly 50, Gary Moore’s gelding is still relatively unexposed after only six career starts. He notched up his first win two starts ago at Brighton – winning a shade cosily and is now only 4 pounds higher. Noel Garbutt retains the ride and Moore feels this horse is one to keep on the right side of. It’s fair to say more was expected of him last time out and the firmer ground at Bath that day may have played a role in a disappointing performance. I fancy Iballisticvin to make amends today and he looks a fair price at 7/1. Iballisticvin (WIN)

14:20 Brighton It goes without saying that William Haggas’ yard is flying at the moment and he has a filly here that looks primed for a first win. Ramblow finished an honourable second to the fast Improving Cartwright on her last start. The forecasted slower ground looks set to suit judging on her breeding and the performances of her siblings. A rating of 59 looks workable and odds of 9/4 about sum up her chances here. Ramblow (WIN)
