12:40 Plumpton
We start our day at Plumpton with a Class 3 Novices chase where likely favourite Chris Pea Green looks to follow up on his recent twenty six length victory over track and trip earlier this month. Prior to this victory he had managed three consecutive seconds and looks sure to be in the mix again today but preference is for Tango De Juilley.
Tango De Juilley was an impressive winner at Kempton last month on his chase debut, returning to the track after over eighteen months away to beat River Maigue by eleven lengths. This was his first career win after managing three placed efforts from five runs over hurdles but the switch to chasing looks to be the right option based on his run at Kempton and he should be open to further improvement here.
Fergall is proven over todays’ trip and with a 50% strike rate of finishes in the first two he is worthy of a mention, although this is his first attempt over larger obstacles.

We switch over to the all-weather for our second selection of the day for an Amateur Riders’ Handicap race. Fujin Dancer won this race last year and is 4lbs lighter today. He has been racing in higher grades than this so although the recent form doesn’t read particularly well he has a strike rate of 75% for finishes in the top three when racing on an all-weather surface.
John Potts has won eight times over course and distance and re-unites with jockey Serena Brotherton. On the two previous occasions they have teamed up they have finished second and first so have to be rated as dangers, although they step up in grade for todays’ race.
Of the remainder Glennten, Tight Lipped and Hail Promenader are all previous course and distance winners who could get involved if returning to their best form.

The final race of the day at Plumpton is where we find our third and final selection. Goochypoochyprader has been disappointing in her two starts this season but has a 40% strike rate for finishing in the top three and is the only course and distance winner in the field. Jockey James Banks’ 3lb allowance brings the selection effectively below her last winning mark and he has a 66% place strike rate when riding here at Plumpton.
Sam Twiston-Davies is an eyecatching booking for early favourite Into The Wind but with only one placed effort from five attempts over hurdles he will need to perform much better to win here.
Golden Games arrives here after a six month break but has proved in the past that she goes well fresh, winning here over eighteen furlongs in April 2013 after a two year absence. She finished a close fourth last time out and could be a danger if turning up in a similar frame of mind.
