We start our TV Tips previews with the BET365 Esher Cup which is run over a mile.
Frankie Dettori won this card twelve months ago and is currently saddling the early market leader Von Blucher but with only one favorite winning this contest in the past eleven years it’s safe to say this race has a history of an upset.
Justice Law looks extremely overpriced in my opinion as he has beaten some good horses on his only three runs and didn’t quite quicken when sent of favorite last time out but he should be able to make an amends for that here today.
Chief Whip could be a great horse for the future as it’s unsure how good his win was last time out but with Ryan Moore in the saddle he’ll know what it’ll take to put this horse close.
The Godolphin entry Ebtihaal is probably the best bet in this race after his very comfortable win in a nursery back in October over this distance, he’ll relish this ground if the rain doesn’t come in today and looks the one to beat unless the rain comes in then i’d probably favor Justice Law.
Our second preview see’s a Group 3 race over ten furlongs.
Western Hymn won this last year and is the hot favorite to go in once again today, he had two very good runs after that win the most noticeable when finishing third behind Golden Horn here nine months ago.He may have a long layoff to deal with but he’s shown in the past he can win fresh.
My Dream Boat could be a player in this if he can handle the step up in trip; he won a tricky Group 3 race over in France last time out in horrendous conditions so if the ground takes a turn for the worse he has every chance.
Tullius and Ayrad competed in this last year but were both out classed finishing 4th and 5th. The latter though won a Group 2 even at York back in July and the former has gone in to win also but they don’t look they’ll give the favorite much concern.
Our Channel has been very impressive on the all-weather so he’s worth keeping an eye on if he can turn that form onto this surface.
Western Hymn (WIN)
Our third race is another Group 3 event over Ten Furlongs.
Once again it looks like the early market favorite is the best bet here. Midterm looks to have alot to prove in this as alot of people see this horse as the derby winner in June at Epsom; he only had one race to date but he looked very strong in a seventeen runner race and stayed on well to win.
Ryan Moore Steered Ventura Storm to victory last time out but the fact he’s chosen the favorite over him today also puts a huge plus on Midterm.
Algometer is another who won last time out in a big race but he may of had the easier of maiden runs then some of these but should do well in handicap company in the season ahead.
The others are even harder to make a case for but all look like they’ll be winning somewhere in times to come.
A Group two awaits us for the final race of the TV Tips, the BET365 Mile.
Godolphin have three entries for this years BET365 Mile with the market favoring Belardo as the best of the trio; he quickened well to win at Doncaster last time out where he left the field for dead with a furlong to go.
Toormoor has been globe trotting as of late with little success but he did win a Group 2 over in Turkey last year and also had the beating of Dutch Connection at Goodwood so he can never be ruled out.
Brenton Rock seems to struggle over this distance for some reason but he’d not of been entered for this without his trainer doing a lot of work with him at home so he maybe best watched it the market.
Adaay done well over six furlongs last year so it’s a surprise seeing him stepping up in trip here but he’s another who has probably been well prepped for this and another to note.
