Meet the man behind the lens with Racing’s Inside Track TV’s former jockey Davy Boland.
“I started out in racing at the age of 15, I came through RACE on The Curragh at the age of 16 & worked for Mick Halford for 3yrs. I rode my first winner for Mick on Al Towd on Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse in a handicap hurdle. I spent a couple of years in the UK riding for Ian Williams before returning home to switch from a Conditional jockey to Amateur to ride for Paul Nolan. I won a point to point on Flemenstar before he went on to Grade 1 successes over fences.”
Favourite Horse: “Flemenstar and Noble Prince have to be my two favourite horses.”
Favourite Trainer: “There are so many great trainers but I am a big Willie Mullins fan and John Gosden on the flat.”
Favourite Jockey: “There’s so many great jockeys in Ireland but I am a big Davy Russell fan and I believe Jack Kennedy is a future champion jockey.”
Favourite Racing Memory: “I’ve had some good days in racing, riding my first winner, riding my first double, Noble Prince winning at the Cheltenham Festival but winning on Flemenstar has to be my best day in racing.”
