PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)
Today’s the last day of racing before Christmas but make sure you join us Boxing day for the Boxing day Bonanza where we give you a tip for every race.
We start our day’s previews with a Class four handicap over five furlongs.
Pensax Lad is four pounds higher for his victory at Chelmsford 12 day’s ago where he just beat Doctor Parkes 7 the final strides; he should have no trouble reproducing that form here again today but might find others a stiffer task.
Royal Acquisition was seeking a hat-trick last time out but after he tried to destroy the stalls he probably wasn’t in any sort of mood to race that day so we can forgive him for that and if he is calmer today especially with the better draw he must go close.
Temple Road was another seeking a hat-trick last time out but the huge hike in the weights obviously was enough to stop that win but he wasn’t disgraced in that race and can’t be ignored.
Richard Fahey horses have been in fine form this year and his entry Luis Vaz De Torres is no exception; he ends his races really well and this shorter trip should really suit him today and is another to note.
Royal Acquisition (E/W if 9/2+)
We stay at Wolverhampton for our second preview a Class Six handicap over seven furlongs.
Mr Christopher finally came good last time out and even though he has a small penalty to negotiate with his jockey removes all that and some more but with his inconsistency it’s hard to be completely confident about him going in again.
Dan dysfunction Perier finished along way behind on his latest outing but he had been getting closer before that so the drop in trip could really benifit him today and he should go close on previous form.
John Coffey is another who should relish the change in trip; he was flying home over five furlongs last time out and even though he’s up two pounds he’s another who should go close.
Trending seems to save his best for this track where he won twice over track at the beginning of the year; he’s another who should go close today and is given the vote in what looks a wide open race.
Trending (E/W if 9/2+)
We end our previews with the last race at Wolverhampton a class six handicap over a mile.
Clary looks the early favourite which probably isn’t much of a surprise looking at her past form but she’s ten pounds higher then her last win around here and even though she’s gone in twice since she may just be caught out today.
Jumbo Prado can race off the same mark as he did last time out where he finished second in what’s looks better company than this today and is only four pounds higher than his win over course and distance back in October.
Gabrial The Thug is four time course and distance winner; he’s also another that is taking a step down in grade and with a decent draw he should be in the mix once again.
Afkar males his debut to this track but he’s been very successful at Kempton in the past so maybe one to keep an eye on for the future if taking 5 o this track today.
Gabrial The Thug (E/W if 9/2+)
