PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)
We start our day’s previews on the fibresand. This looks a very wide open affair with a few of these in some good form, Forced Family Fun and L’lnganno Felice take to this surface for the first time and if they can bring their turf form here they should be able to get into the mix but there are a couple of others here which take my fancy.
Karam Albaari Won on the all-weather from a mark of 84 this time last year and is now currently down to a mark of 69 which looks extremely low and could just be what is needed for him to finally get his nose back in front; he was beaten by Hussar Ballad last time out but is now a lot better off in the weights and should be able to reverse that today.
A Little Bit Dusty is a previous course and distance winner but has not shown any of that form since; he has been given a chance by the handicapper and is now back on a winning mark and could be dangerous.
Karam Albaari (E/W)
14:10 Bangor –On-Dee
Our second race is a novice race over three miles. Bally Braes is currently an early favourite and that is no surprise as he was unlucky not to catch the leader last time out; his jumping that day also let him down slightly but his quickness on the flat was impressive and with his jockeys seven pound claim he should be able to go one better.
A P McCoy saddles Matripajo who burst a blood vessel last time out so there will be plenty of question marks around him but he did look impressive the time before that and if he is fully fit again he could be a real danger to the favourite and has to be in with a chance of a place.
Broadway Symphony is another who will benefit from his jockeys claim; he has not been as good as he was over the hurdles and may be best watched.
Bally Braes (WIN)
We quickly return back to Southwell for our final preview. Kung Hei Fat Choy won this race twelve months ago and is back on the same mark again; he finished second over course and distance last time out and that was in better company than this and looks to be the one to beat.
Best Tamayuz has won three times over course and distance this year but has been raised six pounds for this today and that maybe a little high for him, his stable mate Burnhope may have more of a chance as he is now down to a winning mark with his jockeys claim and has beaten the former over course and distance this year.
Be Royale is another that should be in the mix; he beat Burnhope back in November but the latter is on better terms here today.
