TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

13:50 Newmarket
This represents a good opportunity for Kew Gardens to get his head back in front, perhaps not one of the yards leading lights he has shown decent form at a higher level and opposing him here seems pointless. Dee Ex Bee caused quite a stir when hacking up on debut at Goodwood, since then he’s rather failed to fire though he showed a good attitude when winning at Epsom last time and this ground holds no fears. Albishr could be dangerous if allowed a soft lead but Moore and O’Brien look to hold the aces with Kew Gardens.
KEW GARDENS (WIN)

14:05 York
Big Country appears to reserve his best for this venue and could bounce back having been disappointing the last day, best suited by being on or near the pace this looks a good chance for him to dictate though his mark makes life tough. Dark Red has been fairly consistent this term and probably deserves another win, connections decision to put the first time blinkers on could prove to be a master stroke and he holds every chance. Anythingtoday has some decent form to his name and is open to more improvement than most, nicely weighted and only three, he is taken to strike late. Chelsea Lad is in and out and rather frustrating from a punters perspective, he has plenty of form to run well however.
ANYTHINGTODAY (WIN)

14:25 Newmarket
Ghaiyyath only won a maiden last time but he did it in such style that a crack at a race like this looked the logical next step, well bred and related to winners there is every chance he will prove good enough and he is the selection. Purser was entitled to bolt up at Lingfield last time and he duly did, perhaps slightly unlucky in the Solario the time before he looks to hold every chance today and respect is afforded. Arbalet and Dream Today have shown enough to be considered though Wafy looks the likely dark horse.
GHAIYYATH (WIN)

14:40 York
Shabaaby has been so impressive the last twice that taking him on here appears very difficult, seemingly best suited by decent or softer ground, he will get that today and is taken to rack up a third successive victory. Staxton and Dance Diva have bits and bobs of form to play a major part should the favourite flop, both will need that to happen however and perhaps the most interesting outsider is the lightly raced Barton Mills.
SHABAABY (WIN)

15:00 Newmarket
All eyes will likely be fixed on the unbeaten Expert Eye here and there is every chance he will prove too good, from the Stoute yard he looks to have superstar potential and his form has worked out, from a punting point of view however he lacks value so though he is expected to go very close, we shall take him on. Emaraaty made all last time and did so in the style of a big improver, in the deep end today he will have to improve appreciably but he gets our vote. Seahenge won the Champagne Stakes last time and is respected though Moore obviously thinks U S Navy Flag has better chances.
EMARAATY (WIN)

15:15 York
Spring Loaded has always had plenty of ability but has somehow managed to not show it more often than not, best suited coming off a hard pace he finally came good when bolting up at Doncaster last time. The handicapper showed his dislike for that impressive victory by hiking him up 9lbs, despite that and the fact he rarely backs up efforts he is very hard to get away from and is taken to follow up. Flying Pursuit has been in cracking form and needs respecting, similar comments also apply to Upstaging, Al Qahwa and Stake Acclaim.
SPRING LOADED (WIN) – NAP

15:40 Newmarket
A brutal renewal of the Cesarewitch though if ante post money is anything to go by, John Constable must be working well at home. From the yard of Evan Williams and a Graded winner over timber, it has to be said he looks to be on a very tempting mark if translating that ability to the level. Who Dares Wins won the trial for this over course and distance and looks an obvious player today, his penalty for that could prove troublesome however. Shrewd has something to find with Who Dares Wins though this has always looked like the plan and his handler knows how to land these big handicaps. Time To Study, Swamp Fox and Byron Flyer have something to be recommended on but Shrewd gets the nod.
SHREWD (E/W)

TV TIPS (FRIDAY)

TV TIPS (FRIDAY)

13:50 Newmarket
Charlie Appleby is operating at a 40% winning strike rate over the last two weeks and has always performed consistently well at Newmarket. His runner here is Sound And Silence who won over course and distance on debut and beat today’s main rival Abel Handy a shade cosily when the pair last met, despite the official winning distance only being half a length. He also beat Mokaatil and To Wafij earlier in the season and should be able to confirm the form against both again today, while Battle Of Jericho will likely be popular for the prolific pairing of Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore however I’m not convinced the drop to the minimum trip will suit.
Sound And Silence (WIN)

14:25 Newmarket
Anna Nerium has a course and distance victory to her name and won a Group 3 at Salisbury last month but giving 3lbs away to the rest of the field won’t be an easy task.
Special Purpose was only a half length behind Anna Nerium last time out but should benefit from the extra furlong she encounters here and could well reverse that form, while I Can Fly could also enter the frame if handling the switch from the all-weather to turf.
Gavota and Dark Rose Angel have both placed in Group 2 races in recent weeks and are both in with a real chance again, however I’m opting for Expressiy who takes a big jump in class but has won her last two over seven furlongs and although may not have the scope of some of her rivals she looks to be progressing nicely and could sneak a place at bigger odds.
Expressiy (E/W)

14:45 York
Zabeel Prince is two from two this season, winning by over three lengths despite being eased down on both occasions, and although steps up in grade off a 10lbs higher mark he looks like a potential Group performer so it would be disappointing if he couldn’t bring up the hat-trick here.
Highland Colori has only won two from twenty over a mile but his last victory came over course and distance off a mark of 95 so he warrants consideration racing off a mark 10lbs lower today.
Of the remainder, Zwayyan arrives on the back of a victory over One Word More but it would be no surprise to see that form reversed here, while Home Cummins has made the frame in three from five over track and trip and can get involved again here.
Zabeel Prince (WIN) – NAP

15:00 Newmarket
Frankie Dettori has ridden the winner of this race for the last two renewals and is today partnered with Dabyah who is unbeaten in three over the trip. She hasn’t been seen since coming fourth in the Coronation Stakes at Ascot in June but has won three times on return from a break so looks to have a great chance of another victory today.
Limato has been running consistently well without winning this season but has won over this trip at the highest level so cannot be ruled out, while Dutch Connection has won five from eight over this trip and Gifted Master has an excellent record at Newmarket so both add more spice to an open looking race.
Dabyah (WIN)

15:35 Newmarket
Aidan O’Brien has an excellent strike rate and level stakes profit record at Newmarket, has won this race for the last three years and goes in search of his twenty fourth Group 1 win of the season by saddling Happily, Magical and September here. Jockey bookings, early odds and the form of the Moyglare all suggest that Happily is the one to beat although it would be no surprise to see either of the other two come out on top either.
Magic Lily deserves her chance up in grade following an eight length demolition of her rivals over course and distance last month but I’m sticking with Laurens who won the Group 2 May Hill Stakes on first run over a mile and is yet to finish outside the top two in three career runs to date.
Laurens (E/W)

15:55 York
Stall six has provided us with the last two winners of this contest and is today occupied by Brimham Rocks who has already won three times this season. He steps up in trip for today’s race but would be in with a chance if staying the extra distance.
Joshua Reynolds was well beaten of his current mark at Haydock last month but that was on heavy ground and had earlier recorded two victories on good-to-soft ground so with the conditions expected to suit today he isn’t passed over lightly, especially with both trainer and jockey in good recent form.
Gold Star has won his last two and looks to be improving with each run but at slightly bigger odds I’m opting for Star Rock who also arrives on the back of two victories including when beating a subsequent winner on return from a four month break last month.
Star Rock (E/W)

16:10 Newmarket
Torcello carries a 6lbs penalty for a three length course and distance victory last month but had finished behind First Nation, Melting Dew and Duke Of Bronte when sixth at Ascot on penultimate run.
First Nation has so far been seen to best effect over a shorter trip while Melting Dew has only just failed to gain victory in three of his last four runs although has been raised 5lbs and Sir Michael Stoute has struggled to find winners in the last couple of weeks so preference is for Duke Of Bronte who has won his last two over today’s trip and although has also been raised 5lbs looks capable of further progression and looks a decent each way play at early double figure odds.
Duke Of Bronte (E/W)

RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (THURSDAY)

RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (THURSDAY)

14:30 Ayr
This is something of a race for rogues and trusting any of the runners with anything other than minimal confidence would be foolish, that aside it has caught my attention in the last few weeks that Linda Perratt has taken a couple of similar looking contests. Represented by Stardrifter today it would appear he will unlikely find another race as bad as this and given he’s threatened in similar company already, he is handed a most speculative vote at decent odds. Mischief Managed has only had the handful of runs and looks sure to be popular in the betting, quite what his form adds up to is debatable but he has time on his side. Be Bold, Ingleby Angel and Highway Robber all have claims of sorts in what is a truly woeful contest.
STARDRIFTER (E/W)

15:35 Ayr
Dark Devil arrives here in good heart and his recent second at Chester last time intimated he was ready for a step back up in trip, proven on the ground and likely to get a decent pace to aim at, all things point to a big run. Prying Pandora is a stablemate of the aforementioned Dark Devil, in decent form herself you rather suspect she will give it a good go though presumably Hanagan had the choice of ride. Jay Kay finally cashed in on a falling mark last time and he’s a danger if getting another soft lead however, Dark Devil gets the nod.
DARK DEVIL (WIN) – NAP

RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

16:10 Towcester
Trainer Paul Webber has been grabbing winners in the past two weeks and clearly has his stable in fine fettle. He sends Copperfacejack into battle once again but after twenty starts this seven year old is yet to taste victory. I just hope that with Richard Johnson in the saddle this can finally be his day to finish first past the post.
Fled Or Pled loves it here at Towcester and is unbeaten at the course however connections persist with a chasing career despite recent lacklustre efforts and a marked change will have to have happened to gain success today.
At a bigger price Frank The Slink offers a decent each way alternative for punters looking for bigger odds and is worth noting after a break.
COPPERFACEJACK (WIN)

20:25 Kempton
The penultimate race on the card from tonight’s all-weather meeting at Kempton is the scene for our bet of the day.
Top jockey Silvestre De Sousa takes the ride on trainer Charlie Hills only runner this evening. Exquisite Ruby may not have been victorious in her career to date but some consistent efforts recently shows she’s more than capable and connections may have found the perfect opportunity for her to finally make her way into the winners enclosure.
The biggest threat looks to be former course and distance victor Noble Deed who sits on a very low handicap mark and if returning to anything close to his best will put up a great showing.
EXQUISITE RUBY (WIN) – NAP

RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (TUESDAY)

RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (TUESDAY)

15:15 Brighton
Lexington Grace has won two on the bounce since stepping up to seven furlongs, forging clear in the final furlong to win with some authority at Epsom last time out. With the runner up winning twice since a 6lbs rise should prove manageable and she is taken to notch the hat-trick.
Saeed Bin Suroor has an excellent strike rate at the course and his runner Moseeb will be a danger if seeing out this longer trip, while Chai Chai was a winner at Chester when last seen and could be capable of more despite a 5lbs rise.
Lexington Grace (WIN)

15:55 Leicester
Blakeney Point could afford to be eased down close home when winning at Newbury when last seen and has only been raised 3lbs, which looks pretty lenient considering the runner up Danehill Kodiac beat Waldgeist in a Group 3 at the weekend.
Minotaur hasn’t raced on the flat in over a year but his last flat run was a victory over todays’ trip in a listed contest and he has won his last two over hurdles so looks to be the main danger if fully tuned up following a four month break.
Previous course and distance winner Dance The Dream could fight it out for minor honours along with Soldier In Action who actually beat our selection a couple of runs back but has disappointed since.
Blakeney Point (WIN) – NAP

RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (MONDAY)

RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (MONDAY)

17:40 Musselburgh
The penultimate race on the evening card at Musselburgh looks competitive enough but we hope to have unearthed an outsider that may have been overlooked by many.
Trainer Linda Perratt tends to have her yard running well at this time of year and often bags a few big winners across Scotland and the North of England. She’s entered a five year old by the name of Let Right Be Done who, despite lacklustre recent efforts, on his best form can trouble today’s opposition. A return to seven furlongs looks more suitable and as he now resides off a very low handicap rating (he’s won with twenty pounds more weight before) has a very good chance to go close.
The Keith Dalglish pair of Bonnie Gals and Quiet Moment should do well after decent runs last time and with Hitman dropping down in grade he’s likely to be in contention as well.
LET RIGHT BE DONE (WIN) – NAP

SUNDAY WEEKENDER

SUNDAY WEEKENDER

15.05 Navan
The Waterford Stakes is a listed sprint over the 5f minimum trip, but the Navan track places an emphasis on stamina over this trip and that may just suit one horse in particular.
The horse in question is the J Stack trained Son Of Rest who already has some smart form in the book including last time out when 2 & 1/2 lengths third to the mighty Caravaggio. There is nothing near that level of horse in this field and this looks a good opportunity for him to get back to winning ways here so he gets the nod. The main danger, as always, will likely come from the Aiden O’Brien yard who send the duo of Cougar Mountain and Alphabet here in opposition.
SON OF REST (WIN) – NAP

15.50 Kelso
This Kelso Novices Hurdle is one set to be contested by the usual contenders on the northern national hunt circuit with Malcolm Jefferson, Brian Ellison and Rose Dobbin all having strong contenders here. The one to be on however, looks like being the entrant from the Malcolm Jefferson yard, Mayo Star. The mount of the talented Brian Hughes, this horse was a winner of a bumper at Newcastle back in December and there was a lot of positives to take from his hurdles debut back in April. He is likely to find the ground a lot more favourable now and with the application of the first time hood likely to bring more improvement, he gets the nod to land the spoils. Rose Dobbin has booked Colin O’Farrell for the ride on her Coole Hall and he went close at Perth on hurdles debut so looks most likely to pounce if selection falters.
MAYO STAR – (WIN)
